100 YEARS OF PHILIPS RESEARCH

MUSEUM BOERHAAVE, LEIDEN, NETHERLANDS

 

This exhibition for Museum Boerhaave in Leiden. titeled ’100 years of Philips Research’ offers a choice selection of major innovations by this famous institute, including the vacuum tube, the X-Ray tube, the CD and innovations in the field of lighting. The exhibition also highlights the people behind the inventions, presenting personal stories of scientific curiosity, creativity and daring.

Two interactive games of which one lets the visitor explore what type of researcher they would be and the other provides insight into consumer types. In addition to presenting innovations of the past, the exhibition also explores the latest technological achievements, such as luminous textile and intelligent light which through changing wavelenghts changes sends information.
