Connecterra 

Hoge Kempen, Eisden-Lanklaar, Belgium

Connecterra is a main entrance location to the national park Hoge kempen in flanders belguim.  The park is largly an old mining site that has created a unique natural environment for animals and plants to flourisch for visitors to discover and enjoy. 

The masterplanning and concept design for Connecterra is aimed at developing it to a renowned european educational attraction with biodiversity at its heart.

The developed masterplan explains how the park itself offers unique experiences, how the visitor centre explains and invites the visitor to learn more about the local history and biodiversity. The main exhibition takes the visitor on a "Powers of ten" inspired journey through space and time and from cel to solar system, in which the wonders of life are presented through film, exhibits, audio, display and hands on experiences. 

Connecterra will also be an important location for "Natura 2000" the centrepiece of EU nature & biodiversity policy.
